Learn New Federal Worker Protection Standard Requirements August 9

Seneca Falls, NY. The New York State Agri-business Association and Northeast Region Certified Crop Advisers are sponsoring a one-hour training workshop on the new federal Worker Protection Standard requirements for ag chemical handling at the 2016 Empire Farm Days. The workshop will take place at 1pm on Tuesday, August 9 in the Welcome Center at the 300-acre show hosted by Rodman Lott and Sons Farms, 2973 Route 414, in Seneca Falls, NY.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Pesticide Control Specialist Christopher Wainwright of NYSDEC Region 8 will conduct the training focused on the new federal requirements and implementation schedule for the Worker Protection Standard. As time allows, a discussion may also address common pesticide-related violations on farms.
Anyone may attend the program; NYS DEC applicator credit in areas 1a pr 21 will be available to accredited applicators who sign in, have a DEC ID card, and sign out on completion. The training is also worth 1 Certified Crop Adviser CEU Pest Management credit.
The New York State Agri-business Association is a not-for-profit association representing the feed, seed, bioenergy, equipment and agronomy industries in New York with the mission of promoting scientifically-sound agronomic practices. The Northeast Region Certified Crop Advisers is a voluntary certification program by the Agronomy Society of America.
