Miniature, Mustang, and Vaulting Horses in the Spotlight for 2016 Empire Farm Days Equine Seminars
Seneca Falls, NY. The August 9-11, 2016 Empire Farm Days Equine Center Round Pen Seminars will feature miniature horses, American mustangs, and vaulting horses. The round pen demonstrations at 11 am and 2 pm daily with live horses are a popular feature each year at the 300-acre event that is the largest outdoor agricultural expo in the Northeastern U.S.
The schedule for the 2016 Empire Farm Days Equine Center Round Pen Seminars, sponsored by Layden Fence and Livestock Systems, is:
Tuesday, August 9: Miniature Horses for Show and Therapy with Jessica Gulvin, Heart O’Gold Equine, Geneva, NY: demonstrations on competing with the small horses standing no more than 36 inches tall and on training them to visit nursing homes, daycare sites, veteran hospitals, and other venues to provide an equine brand of unconditional love and therapy. The horses include Emerald Acres Clownfactor with six Pinto Horse Association State Champion awards and one National Championship.
Wednesday, August 10: Living American History: American Mustang Makeovers with Emma and Jack Minteer, Rose Hill Ranch, Naples, NY. The Minteers are known for taming the wild, but willing horses of the American West in just 100 days. Jack, a 30-plus-year bull riding circuit competitor, now competes in the Mustang Magic Competition and Reined Cow Horse events. Emma is known for making the top 10 finals in several Extreme Mustang Makeovers, and earned Reserve Champion honors with Shaka Laka Boom Boom in 2015.
Thursday, August 11: Introduction to Equestrian Vaulting with Laura Bagley, Sunshine Meadows Farm and Stables, Penn Yan, NY. Laura, 15, will present her public speaking presentation on vaulting given at the New York State 4-H competition in May 2016 and will demonstrate the sport that combines dance and gymnastics on horseback. Laura will demonstrate the compulsory moves required to show balance and strength as well as a freestyle and technical routine.
The Equine Center Round Pen Seminars are a popular feature at Empire Farm Days with 300 acres with exhibits, demonstrations, seminars, and activities. The 2016 event will take place August 9, 10 and 11 with different Equine Center presenters each day. Parking is $10 per vehicle. Learn more at www.empirefarmdays.com.
