Dan Neenan is a Paramedic Specialist with a Firefighter Specialist degree. He is also the director of the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety in Peosta, Iowa. On August 8-10, 2017, Dan will be educating visitors to Empire Farm Days at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY, about the four most common ways people become entrapped in grain bins.

Neenan will be conducting demonstrations with a Grain Bin Rescue Simulator filled with 110 bushels of corn at the event that is the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in the northeastern U.S.

The presentation will include information on the equipment every bin operator should have on site, and how to protect oneself from grain dust and mold when working near a bin.

Firefighters and emergency rescue personnel may register for a free 4-hour training on Tuesday, August 8 from 6 pm to 10 pm. Registration is required for the training that includes practice with lockout and tag out and extrication of engulfed victims.
